2nd Annual Smith & Wesley and Friends Concert

It’s the 2nd annual Smith & Wesley and Friends concert presented by 107.9 Nash Icon, September 14th at the Northwest Georgia Amphitheater. Join us for a full day of country music and fun with headliner John Schneider–Bo Duke, from the Dukes of Hazzard! Also on stage, our own Cody McCarver and the hosts of the event, Smith & Wesley. Proceeds benefit The Wes and Shirley Smith Charitable Endowment.

In the early 1980s, following the success of Dukes of Hazzard, Schneider was signed to Scotti Brother Label.

His debut album, “Now or Never”, reached no. 8 on the US Country Billboard charts, and his single of the same name – a remake of the classic Elvis Presley song – remains the top charting Elvis cover of any genre.

From 1984 to 1987 Schneider released six albums under MCA Nashville including his no. 1 album “A Memory Like You” and the quintessential “Greatest Hits” album. He released his smash hit, Ruffled Skirts in 2017.

Cody McCarver’s emotion-filled voice displays a life full of heartache and lessons. Yes, when you hear Cody sing, you know he has a story to tell.

Cody has released 2 country CDs and 3 Christians CDs since leaving the band Confederate Railroad. The Lords Will, I’m Forgiven and his latest CD Rise Up have established him and his message in the Christian music world. In 2018 God gave him a #1 single with Rise Up. The top 100 Christian country charts have Rise Up at #18 for 2018 and his single Run & Hide which was featured in a motion picture at #57 for 2018.

What does 2019 hold for Cody McCarver? A brand new CD titled “Blessings” will be released. The CD is produced by Lew Card who also is a co-writer with Cody On several tracks. Cody called on his friend John Schneider to sing a duet titled “These hands” and John Anderson to help sing the old hymn “The Old Rugged Cross”. Sounds like the title for the new CD “Blessings” is the perfect title.

Hailing from North GA/Chattanooga TN. area, Smith & Wesley has taken Country music by storm. Two Top 30 singles, You’re The One and Sweet Life from their debut album Choices & Chances and singles The Little Things, SUPERMAN “For a Day”, and Hook, Line & Sinker from their sophomore album, Smith & Wesley has become a force to be reckoned with.
The first single from For Better or For Worse in 2017, The Little Things, landed at #23 on the charts. The accompanying music video debuted on The Heartland Network has been viewed over 1.3 million times online.
Spring 2018 brought Smith & Wesley’s first Top 20 single, Hook Line & Sinker.
The first Billboard Indicator Top 40 hit for the band tapped into that part of all of us that’s “A Little on the Redneck Side”. The music video features Country Music icons from John Schneider to Irlene Mandrell. The single embodies everything about country living – whether you’re in the country or in the city. Put it on, turn it up, and get “A Little on the Redneck Side”!
